Exofest III: Edmonton International Horror Film Festival

Film, Short and Documentary Submission
Submission Deadline: Entries must be postmarked by July 15, 2003 Please read all submission guidelines before entering, thank you.
Submission Guidelines:
Each film or video must be accompanied by a completed entry form (photocopies are acceptable) and an entry fee. Entries must be submitted on 1/2" (standard VHS) videocassette in NTSC format, or DVD-R. Foreign language work must be dubbed or subtitled in English. VERY IMPORTANT: when your entry is sent in, please mark it as "no retail value, for promotional purposes only", as the Canadian government charges a goods and services tax of 7% on anything that crosses the border. Entry Fees:
Due to the volume of entry review requests, we find ourselves unable to complete all of our "normal" workload, so therefore, we must start charging an entry fee of $20.00 USD for each feature length film and $15.00 for each short entered into the festival. Money orders may be made payable to "Exophagy Dot Com", or payment may be made via credit card to PayPal at a $5.00 discount to your entry fee. Please contact dbond@exophagy.com for more details. Length Requirements:
Shorts: 3 minutes minimum to 44 minutes maximum. Features: 45 minutes minimum and above.
Shipping:
Cost of shipping to festival is the responsibility of the entrant. Exhibition copies must be sent to the festival prepaid. All film reels, cans, videotapes and cases must be labeled with the title of the entry. The festival cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials while in transit. Selection and Notification:
Programming decisions are made by the festival directors and our selection committee. If your film is chosen, you will be notified after July 10, 2003 via email. If accepted, the print of your film, or presentation video, will need to be in our office by August 1, 2003. The festival does not pay rental fees for submitted work that is programmed. When your film is accepted you will also need to send the following: A VHS, (NTSC) or DVD copy of the film for rating purposes. Your presentation copy of the film. A copy for press viewing purposes preferrably VHS (NTSC). Images for promotional use - either images to scan or 300 dpi images on CDR. A complete synopsis, and listing of cast and crew. A trailer, or URL to your trailer on the world wide web. A URL to the official website of your film (if available). Film reviews.
Awards
Exofest does give awards. A festival jury will present awards to films and videos selected as: 1. Best Feature 2. Best Short 3. Audience Choice 4. Best Special Effects 5. Best Cinematography 6. Best Actor 7. Best Actress If you are an Albertan filmmaker, please enter your film in "Grimm Prairie Tales" competition.
Return of Submission Tapes
If you wish to have your submissions returned to you, please include a return fee of $5.00 in North America or $10.00 Internationally.
Festival Facts
A list of participating Special Events, Guests, Press and Distribution Companies will be announced three weeks prior to the event.

Our festivals run strictly on donations from corporate sponsors and private individuals. If you would like to sit on the board of directors, or donate your time at one of the festivals, please contact our volunteer coordinator rbartlett@exophagy.com.
